Nationally recognized by The Education Trust as a “Transforming School Counseling” Program, our Master of Arts in School Counseling prepares you for licensure as a school counselor at all grade levels, as well as to be a change agent in pre K-12 schools. This School Counseling Master's Degree emphasizes leadership, advocacy, and data-informed practices to strengthen student outcomes.

Our program will help you develop a professional identity as a school counselor with particular focus on meeting the needs of all students. 

Intensive, supervised practica and internships are required, providing real-life work experience in the application of prevention, intervention, and evaluation techniques in pre K-12 schools.

Licensing

Upon completion of the program, you are eligible for a school counseling license from the Indiana Department of Education. You must apply to be recommended by the Teachers College Office of Teacher Education Services to receive a standard grade license for school counselor, issued by the Indiana Department of Education. A school services license allows you to serve as a counselor at all grade levels (preK-12). Learn More
